About Lowcountry Septic & Drain
This page is about method rather than history, because when you are looking at a five-figure hole in your yard the thing worth knowing is how the number was arrived at.
Why Summerville Chooses Us
- Borings on your lot before any price is given
- Seasonal water table read, not assumed from a soil map
- SCDES application filed and their evaluator met on site
- Sewer availability checked before a replacement is quoted
- Open-trench inspection passed before anything is covered
We dig before we price
Every estimate on a replacement starts with borings and a water-table reading on your property, not a soil map and not the job we did two streets over. Two lots on the same road can take completely different systems, and the only way to know which is to open the ground. The evaluation is a real cost and it is credited against the install if you go ahead with us.
The number is written down before work starts
A scope naming tank size, trench length, system type, permit fees, restoration and payment stages. If the ground turns out different from what the borings showed, that is a conversation and a written change, not a bigger invoice at the end.
What we tell you not to spend money on
Replacing a tank when the drain field is what has failed. Installing a conventional field where the separation will not pass. Putting a new system in a street that already has sewer past it. Each of those is a sale we could make and a customer we would lose.
The other people this job touches
SCDES for the permit and the final inspection. Sometimes a surveyor where property lines or well setbacks are unclear, and occasionally a licensed plumber where the failure turns out to be inside the house rather than in the yard. We say which of those you need and roughly what they cost.
